Erin Mykleby has a passion for athletics. While working on her graduate degree, Erin Mykleby also worked as a student-athlete Academic Service Learning Assistant for the football team which allowed her to work one on one with student-athletes to help them develop as student- athletes, but also to help develop her professional skills. While earning her graduate degree, Erin Mykleby was able to develop the skills both academically and professionally through her coursework and hands on experiences within the Iowa Athletic Department.
Over a long career, Erin Mykleby, who was originally from Iowa, has managed to gain experience and skill working in athletic departments throughout the country. That is what makes her well-suited for her current position as the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing, Fundraising, and Community Engagement at Saint Leo University.
In addition to her experience, Erin Mykleby has a lot of education to enhance her record, as well. For example, she has the Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education she earned from Luther College in 2012. Erin also obtained a Master’s degree in sports management from the University of Iowa in 2014. While there, Erin was a teaching assistant and she also served as a supervisor for the undergraduate Sports Business Internship program. She also served as a graduate intern for the University of Iowa’s athletic department in event management, where she managed athletic events, championships and other key athletic events.
In addition to her academic record, Erin was also a key member of their women’s swimming and diving team. In 2011, she was chosen as a Honorable Mention Academic All-American. Over time, Erin also gained considerable knowledge from teaching and coaching swimming, as well as volleyball and basketball in Antwerp, Belgium. Prior to her time at Saint Leo’s, Erin Mykleby worked with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). While there, she was a liaison to several NACDA affiliate organizations, like the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) and the Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA).
Erin Mykleby currently serves as an athletic department liaison for Saint Leo University. Officially, her title is Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing, Fundraising, and Community Engagement, and she does a lot of promotion for the Department.
Prior to accepting the job at Saint Leo’s, Erin Mykleby worked with several athletic organizations, including the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). After Erin earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Luther College in 2012, she gained international experience teaching and coaching volleyball, basketball and swimming in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2014, Erin earned a Master’s degree in sports management from the University of Iowa. While she was there, she served as a teaching assistant and a supervisor for the undergraduate Sports Business Internship program.
